About

Voice of Amhara is an independent media platform dedicated to telling the untold stories of the Amhara people and all Ethiopians affected by injustice, violence, and silence. We believe that every community deserves to be heard, every life deserves dignity, and every truth deserves light.

Our mission is simple but powerful, to give voice to the voiceless. We publish news, analysis, eyewitness reports, and opinion pieces that shed light on social, political, and humanitarian issues often ignored by mainstream media.

From massacres and displacement to stories of faith, resilience, and hope, Voice of Amhara stands with truth and compassion. We work to document realities on the ground, amplify victims’ voices, and call for justice and accountability in Ethiopia and beyond.

We are not driven by politics, but by principle, the principle that human life, freedom, and truth matter more than power or propaganda.

Whether you are part of the Amhara community, an ally, a researcher, or a global citizen seeking the truth, we welcome you to join us in this mission. Share our stories, support our cause, and help make sure that silence is never the last word. Voice of Amhara — Truth Has a Voice.

About the Founder — Abel Tewodros

I have been a political activist and humanitarian volunteer since 2016, committed to standing up for justice, human rights, and the truth in Ethiopia.

Over the years, my activism has come at a high cost. I have faced imprisonment, harassment, and oppression for speaking out against injustice and defending the rights of the Amhara people and other vulnerable communities.

Now living in exile, I continue my work through advocacy, independent journalism, and community engagement. I have collaborated with various Amhara associations and human-rights initiatives to raise awareness and call for accountability.

After my social-media accounts were shut down by coordinated government cyber-attacks and censorship, I refused to be silenced. I founded the Voice of Amhara (VOA) website to keep amplifying the voices of the voiceless, to tell the truth, preserve the memory of victims, and inspire hope for a just and peaceful Ethiopia.

Through Voice of Amhara, I aim to build a platform that defends truth, promotes understanding, and stands firmly with those who continue to suffer in silence.

“They tried to silence my voice — but instead, they helped me find a stronger one.”
